US Open Live Viewing Event

American Express once again brought the thrill of the game to fans and Cardmembers with the American Express Presents U.S. Open Live tournament viewing event at Rockefeller Center. The Plaza was transformed into an interactive tennis experience complete with a giant viewing screen, stadium seating, concessions, interactive and pro instruction, daily ticket giveaways, player appearances and more. The event was free and open to the public. The U.S. Open Live tournament viewing event was presented by American Express and Hosted by Tishman Speyer.

Anish Kapoor’s Sky Mirror

Sky Mirror, an innovative, monumental sculpture made of polished stainless steel designed by internationally renowned artist Anish Kapoor, was displayed at Rockefeller Center at the entrance to the Channel Gardens. The breathtaking 35-foot-diameter, 23-ton circular mirror stood nearly three stories high and offered a dazzling experience of light and architecture. Angled upward, its concave side faced 30 Rockefeller Plaza, reflecting an upside-down portrait of this elegant and iconic New York City skyscraper and the shifting sky around it. Sky Mirror was presented by Tumi, organized by the Public Art Fund and hosted by Tishman Speyer.

Ocean Spray Cranberry Bog

The breath-taking beauty of the cranberry harvest came to New York City when thousands of pounds of cranberries and cranberry vines from Ocean Spray bogs arrived in Rockefeller Center creating a 1,500 square foot free-standing bog. The Big Apple Bog was free, and the public were invited to visit and learn first-hand about the taste, health and heritage of the cranberry from third- and fourth-generation cranberry growers.

74th Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting

The 2006 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree was lit on Wednesday, November 29th just before 9:00pm. The two-hour live program and television broadcast featured various celebrity appearances and a star-studded musical lineup.
