It's all coming to an end, this epic, spectacular month of futbol. Brazil plays against the Netherlands for the third place ranking on Saturday at 4pm (EST), and Sunday's final between Argentina and Germany (it starts at 3pm) is sure to be an incredible event. It's been quite the ride for all the players and fans, even the ones who'd never watched a soccer match before June. And after Brazil's devastation by Germany (SEVEN goals?!?) the final is sure to draw tons of attention. Come to Rockefeller Center this weekend and see it all go down!
The Summer Garden & Bar will be showing both games on all of the televisions around the bar, and is even offering a special menu alongside. Running with a truly international inspiration (from back when all the countries were still in the competition), World Cup–themed appetizers include four-cheese rice balls in honor of Italy, Spanish-style chili-garlic prawns, chicken tacos to shout out Mexico and beef skewers with chimichurri sauce from Argentina. Obviously, if you're rooting for Argentina, the brochette de carne is a must-order. And in honor of the host country Brazil, a variety of caipirinha cocktails are on offer, including versions made with lime and mint, strawberry, kiwi or cucumber. Tão delicioso!
Bill's Bar & Burger will be screening both games for its guests, and promises that the live sound will be turned up through the televisions too. (You won't miss one GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL.) Bill's delicious burgers, nachos, wings, tacos and disco fries are the best way to get through the high tension.
Another place to watch the game at Rock Center is Del Frisco's Grille, where the lively bar scene will likely reach new heights during the final. Del Frisco's Triple Threat is your go-to meal here: that's a double cheeseburger, your choice of fries and a milkshake loaded with sweet liqueurs.
May the best team win, see you in four years!
