Adjusting to up-and-down weather isn't easy, but plenty of Rock Center shops have you covered for the swinging spring temperatures on the way. Here are a slew of sweaters, jackets and other layers for when you're out and about in NYC this March.
J. Crew refreshes your jacket game with a puckered navy gingham blazer (pictured), a peplum jacket in fuschia tweed and a vivid blue English tweed number with braided trim. Also check out chic tops (like the silk pajama shirt with a foulard print and the nautical reversible pullover) and beach cover-ups such as the striped linen caftan for an added twist.
Kimonos and wraps from Anthropologie are a breezy way to step into the season. New designs include the cropped floral burnout style, red roses on black, and one in olive satin with an embroidered garden scene on the back. The shop is also big on shiny, patterned and embellished bomber jackets and trenches, as well as a bounty of flowing scarves from the warmly hued silk checkered floral to a fringed cotton striped jacquard.
Pantone's Color of the Year is Greenery, and Ann Taylor is on-trend with lots of verdant hues from the striped 3/4 sleeve sweater in viscose and nylon to the delicate Reed Garden square scarf. Tailored jackets abound as well, including a plaid tweed with a hidden zip front (in petite sizes too) and a fringed bolero in marled black and white.
Michael Kors mixes neutrals and brights for his Spring 2017 collection, with highlights such as an oversized cashmere ribbed cardigan in azalea, a cashmere pullover in navy and brown with long button-up cuffs, and a gingham wool-jacquard coat. Also look out for updated trenches, like this double-breasted one in mandarin.
Aritzia's Babaton line brings lots of drape and versatility in layers, from the robe-like Quincey jacket to the pajama-style Kearney blouse. There's also an array of hoodies and scarves for spring, spanning tried-and-true red bandanas, a pale indigo stripe in cotton and an easy woven square in dusty pink, finished in fringe.
