EMANARE

Sep 7Oct 17South Plaza Free and open to the public

This September, Rockefeller Center will present Paula Crown’s EMANARE, a multimedia installation using LED screens to create an interactive art experience. The new installation will be on view in window displays at the Center’s South Plaza (located on 48th Street between 5th – 6th Avenues)..

Rockefeller Center visitors will scan a QR code with their phone, which opens the EMANARE website with a message submission form. As soon as their messages of hope, positivity and good intentions pass moderation, the messages are then transformed into the unique graphics and coloring Crown designed exclusively for the space.

In EMANARE, Crown blends the haptic and the virtual, creating an interactive experience inviting each of us to collaborate with the artwork. Emanare, the Latin word for emanate, means to flow out, to send forth, and to emit. Known for asking “What’s not wrong today?” Crown believes in the power of positive intentions and the extraordinary goodness in the world.
