Summer Sundays: New York City Children's Theater | FIVE
Summer Sundays include family-friendly programming for all to enjoy. Beginning at 11 am every Sunday, families can sing, learn, play and create with musical performers, artists, and other special guests. On Sunday August 14th come and Learn with Piper the Puppet!
Piper the Puppet has traveled to New York City all the way from the planet Blank to learn about his FIVE senses! Incorporating live music, puppetry, videos and sensory objects, FIVE invites young audiences to explore their five senses while celebrating the unique boroughs of New York City!
New York City Children's Theater’s mission is to promote children's literacy and social development through accessible professional theater productions and arts-in-education programs. Their programs cultivate children's growth in the areas of emotional intelligence, community building, and responsible decision-making. The result is empathetic, creative, and independent thinkers who make a positive impact on their world.
New York City Children's Theater's (NYCCT) multimedia musical FIVE launched in 2015 and has since served over 13,500 students in 129 elementary schools and community centers. The show:
- Activates and explores children’s five senses
- Supports verbal language with other forms of communication, including American Sign Language, music, video, and sensory objects
- Explores unique attractions in the five boroughs of New York City
Best for ages 3-8 | Approximately 35 minutes
