Strawberry Basil Gin Rickey Recipe

Strawberry Syrup

-          1 cup strawberries

-          .25cups sugar

-          1 cup water

-          8 basil leaves smashed between your palms

First, make the strawberry-basil syrup. Heat sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Whisk until sugar has dissolved. Add sliced strawberries and basil and continue to cook until strawberries are mushy. Press the strawberries to release all their juices. Let syrup cool and strain through a fine mesh sieve. Syrup can be stored in a glass jar with a lid for up to 1 month.

-          1.75oz gin

-          1oz lime juice

-          1oz strawberry syrup

-          Soda water

Place everything in a shaker except soda water. Shake well and pour over ice. Top with soda water and garnish with strawberries.
