See New York City like you never have before on The Beam, a thrilling experience that recreates the legendary 1932 photo, “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper.” Rising 12 feet above Top of the Rock’s 70th-floor Observation Deck, The Beam rotates 180 degrees to treat visitors to a panorama of the NYC skyline, with direct sights of Central Park and beyond.

Weather Room

The Weather Room pairs Top of the Rock’s sweeping cityscapes with elevated, locally-sourced casual fare like artisanal sandwiches, mezze plates, and worldly pastries. From 9 am to midnight, The Weather Room promises an only-in-New York skyview respite.

In the event Skylift must be closed due to extreme weather conditions, tickets will be reissued for a later date to ensure everyone’s safety.

While there is no height limit to ride Skylift, we ask that all children under 18 years old be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of your Skylift experience. Guests who exceed 300 lbs. (136 kg) will not be able to ride.

No. Loose articles of clothing (hats, scarves, etc.) must be securely fastened. Please note that the Skylift floor is clear, and for your comfort, we recommend wearing pants, shorts, or tights if possible.

Up to 13 guests can experience the Skylift with an attendant.

The following are not permitted on Skylift:

  • Other electronic devices apart from a cellphone and/or small hand-held camera
  • Loose articles of clothing that cannot be properly secured to the guest
  • Large bags / backpacks / shopping bags / luggage. Nothing can be "stored" on the ride platform.
  • Loose valuables that cannot be placed securely inside guest's pockets or bags must be stored inside Cubbies
  • Beverages, water bottles and other liquid containers
  • Medical devices such as oxygen tanks
  • Baby Strollers and Carriers
  • Smoking and/or vaping
  • No running, jumping or horseplay

Cubbies are available to safely store your valuables during your Skylift experience.

The following are permitted on Skylift:

  • Cellphones, small hand-held cameras, go-pros
  • Hats, Headscarves, face masks (all must be tightly secured on the guest)
  • Small bags such as small backpacks, fanny packs, tote bags, sling bags
  • Assisted mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and scooters

No, children under 18 years old must be accompanied at all times by an adult during your Skylift experience and cannot be left with an employee. Please note that once onboard Skylift, the child must remain standing at all times and for safety reasons, may not be carried or seated on the platform.

Yes, though no additional devices aside from a personal phone or small hand-held camera may be used. No additional equipment such as tripods and selfie-sticks, will be allowed and phones or cameras may not be propped up or against any Skylift equipment. Additionally, your Skylift photo opportunity will be available via QR code at the end of your experience, as well as for purchase in the Gift Shop.

Guests who purchase VIP tickets will be able to skip the general queue and board the next Skylift cycle.

From the 70th floor of Rockefeller Center, Skylift rises 30 feet (9 meters) in the air.

Yes, assisted mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and scooters are allowed on Skylift.

  • Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Supervising adults are responsible for ensuring their children follow all communicated instructions and posted signage. Under no circumstances can children be left unsupervised or under the care of staff.
  • Backpacks and other large bags are not allowed on Skylift. Small bags such as purses, fanny-packs, sling-bags, are allowed and must be worn at all times.
  • Cellphones and small hand-held cameras are allowed on Skylift. Other electronic devices and equipment, including selfie-sticks and tri-pods, must be stored. Cubbies are available to safely store valuables during your experience.
  • Guests may not sit, run, or place anything stationary on the platform. Hanging or extending anything over the platform railing, including coats, bags or other personal items, is not allowed.
  • Guests under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other substances will not be permitted to ride.
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted at Top of the Rock.
  • No liquids, open containers or water bottles are allowed on Skylift. Water bottles must be stored in the cubbies.
  • No pets allowed. Service and emotional support animals are not permitted on Skylift. Guests with service animals must have a member of their party supervise the service animal for the duration of their experience.
  • Guests with special needs must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times. Wheelchairs, walking frames, and mobility scooters are allowed.
  • Baby strollers and carriers must be temporarily stored in an area designated by staff.
  • Children are not to be picked up at any time during the ride cycle. If there is potential for a child to need to be picked up, then the child is not permitted to ride and must be supervised by an adult from their party for the duration of their Skylift experience.
