The Best Things to Do in NYC in July 2026

For two weeks in July, Rockefeller Center hands its whole campus over to soccer. The NYNJ World Cup 26 & Telemundo Fan Village runs July 6 to 19 with a real pitch, free match viewing, clinics with pro coaches, movie nights, a museum, and a store: Midtown's version of a home stadium.

Here's the full rundown of what's on, day by day, and how to plan your visit. Before heading to Rockefeller Center, check the Fan Village Know Before You Go and FAQ guide for the latest details on entry, security screening, directions, prohibited items, accessibility, and what to expect on site.

Inside the NYNJ World Cup 26 & Telemundo Fan Village at Rockefeller Center

The Fan Village is the corner of the campus that turns into game day: a soccer pitch where The Rink usually sits, screens big enough to see from across the plaza, and four different pockets of programming to work through. It runs July 6 through 19, open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on most match days and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. the rest of the time. Live match broadcasts and viewing are free the whole run; the clinics and special programming are free too, but most request advance registration. The move is to register early: clinics fill, and walk-up spots depend on the day. It spreads across four areas: The Pitch, Champions Garden, the Global Fan Plaza, and Top of the Rock.

Register and check the full schedule for the Fan Village.

Fans at Top of the Rock

NYNJ World Cup 26 Official Viewpoint Experience at Top of the Rock Observation Deck

Top of the Rock doubles as the Official Viewpoint Experience during the Fan Village: live match streaming, fan giveaways, and the city in every direction, 70 floors up. Book your tickets for live match streaming from the observation deck on Top of the Rock.

The Pitch: live match viewing with Telemundo

The heart of it is The Pitch, where The Rink becomes a playable field. Telemundo calls the matches in Spanish, with pre- and post-match coverage. Featured match programming lands July 6–7, 9–11, 14–15, and 18–19. Deciding where to catch a match across the boroughs? Start with our where-to-watch guide.

Clinics

The clinics are a bigger get than they sound: FC Bayern is flying coaches in from Munich, and New York City FC, Gotham FC, and Panini are all running their own sessions. Nearly all of it is free with advance registration.

FC Bayern sends coaches for youth clinics across the run for youth ages 7 to 18 from July 6–17). New York City FC's City in the Community foundation runs adult, youth, and girls clinics on July 9 and 15). Gotham FC holds youth technical sessions on July 13. And, Panini puts on an all-ages skills clinic on July 8.

The good slots are going fast, so register ahead.

Family Days & Movie Nights

Two nights turn The Pitch into an open-air movie theater that’s fun for the whole family. Illumination screens Minions on July 12 and Minions: The Rise of Gru on July 16. Earlier in the day on July 12, kids 5 to 12 can build their own tabletop Flick Soccer goal at the Home Depot Kids Workshop. Spots are limited, so register ahead.

Champions Garden

The Channel Gardens become Champions Garden for the run: floral displays honoring the eight nations that have lifted the FIFA World Cup™ trophy. It's the quiet counterpoint to the noise of The Pitch, and one of the best photos on the campus. (Looking for photo-worthy moments? Get our guide on the best photo spots in New York City).

The Global Fan Plaza and the Visa Infinite Lounge

The Global Fan Plaza spreads across Rockefeller Plaza with hands-on activations and fan experiences built around the tournament. For a seat out of the crowd, the Visa Infinite Lounge is the premium room reserved for Visa Infinite cardholders: dedicated screens at the tables, a clear sightline to the theater-size screens over The Pitch, and a kitchen run by Chef Greg Baxtrom of 5 Acres. Standard reservations run noon to 8 p.m. in one-hour slots; Match Day Experiences hold your table for the full match, the final on July 19 included.

The FIFA Museum Presented by Hyundai

The FIFA Museum Presented by Hyundai runs June 11 to July 19 at 50 Rockefeller Plaza, and it's free. The exhibition, “Legacies of Champions,” walks through nearly a century of the tournament with original objects from every edition since 1930: gear tied to Pelé, Ronaldo, and Messi, as well as the historic Jules Rimet Trophy. You’ll also find a “48 Teams. One Prize.” wall of national jerseys, and a cinematic room called “The Final.” Reserve a time slot or walk in; it's open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

FIFA WORLD CUP 2026™ STORE

The Official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Store

For gear, the Official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Store sits at 45 Rockefeller Plaza on 51st Street between Fifth and Sixth: team jerseys, New York New Jersey host-city apparel, scarves, hats, and accessories. It's open Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday until 7 p.m., and Top of the Rock ticket holders save 10% on official merchandise across the campus.
