Meet the Man Who Has Picked the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree for Three Decades
Last summer the Queens Night Market debuted its daytime Outpost at Rockefeller Center, and the outstanding food destination is back this fall. Opening October 12 and running Monday–Saturday until the holidays, the market brings vendors preparing specialties from Indonesia, Ecuador, Germany and other countries around the world.
This year's participants include Joey Bats Cafe, selling Portuguese custard tarts and croissants; Jamaican favorite Treat Yourself Jerk Chicken; bratwurst stand German Brats by Jens Wohld; Mamika’s Homemade, for Balinese food like nasi kuning and vegan dumplings; La Braza, firing up Ecuadorian choclos and empanadas; and Di Lena's Dolcini for Italian sweets.
The Queens Night Market at Rockefeller Center runs Monday–Saturday, 11am–5pm on the South Plaza (at 49th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues). Check out the QNM cookbook, The World Eats Here, released this past spring, and see a map of Rock Center here.
